Osborne.ĭavid Francis Russell, 76, of Brockton and West Harwich, passed away Friday, Jat the Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the sister of the late Richard J. and his wife Anne Marie, Suzanne Frances Russell Backoff and her husband Brian and Maura Ann Russell she was the proud, loving, joy filled “Gramma” of Daniel Francis Russell aunt of Michele Osborne Driscoll and Amanda Osborne she is also survived by several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband David, she was the loving mother of David Francis Russell, Jr. Trips to Bermuda were most special to her, it was there that she and David celebrated their honeymoon. Traveling and taking cruises and hosting parties for family and friends were some of the things she enjoyed the most. Sally was happiest when she was able to share leisure time with those she loved. For several months she spent winters in Naples, Florida where she was a communicant of St. In more recent years, she enjoyed time spent at her home in West Harwich where she was a communicant of Holy Trinity Parish. Patrick Church in Brockton where she was a CCD Teacher and Eucharistic Minister. It was there that she received the sacraments of baptism, first communion, penance, confirmation and matrimony.ĭuring her adult life she was an active member and communicant of St. Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Brockton was instrumental in her spiritual life. Her faith was both an inspiration and a source of comfort. The three most cherished parts of Sally’s life were her Catholic faith, her loving family and her many loyal friends. Sally was also an active participant in the “Nurse’s Health Study” sponsored by Harvard Medical School. In 1984 after raising her family, Sally returned to the nursing profession as a Certified Diabetes Educator at Bridgewater Goddard Park Medical Associates in Brockton for 17 years, retiring in 2001. Russell in 1966 she taught Nursing at the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing and Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. She then received her Master of Science Degree from Boston College in 1967. She then worked as a Staff Nurse at Boston City Hospital and Boston VA Hospital. She then earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston College School of Nursing in 1962. Raised and educated in Brockton, she was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1958. She was the devoted wife of David Francis Russell for 48 years.īorn Friday, Januin Brookline, she was the daughter of the late William Francis Osborne and Sarah Alice (Higgins) Osborne.
